“I am the bread of life.” John 6:48
Not long ago, my daughter asked me to buy her some bread. I went to the grocery store and this is what I saw: empty shelves. I was a bit stunned. Never in my life have I ever seen completely empty bread shelves in a grocery store. I am reminded of the scripture in Exodus 16 when the Israelites were wandering in the desert for forty years and they were afraid that they wouldn’t have enough bread. Every morning they would collect the manna, bread from heaven, and they would have enough for that day. But if they hoarded it, it would go bad by the next morning. Yet God would provide once again…and they would have enough for that day.
