Children’s Ministry

But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me. Don’t stop them, because the kingdom of heaven belongs to people who are like these children.”

Matthew 19:14

Parkview cares about our children and families! Join us every Sunday for our service in person or via Zoom to hear a gospel message for our little ones. Here we will share resources that you can use to nourish your kids spiritually.

Do you need ideas for teaching your children to pray? Here are two simple prayers remembered from a Parkview member’s childhood that you can use as models:

  • “God is good, God is great, let me thank God for this ______ (food, day, friend, etc).  Amen.”
  • “Around the circle that never ends, always remember that God is our friend, thank you for this _________ (food, day, friend, etc.).  Amen.”

You can also see the video on 5 Fingers Prayer as taught by our former pastoral resident, Veronica Gould. Click here to view the 2020 video. Click here for the written companion to the video.

Let’s talk about it– resources for talking with young children about racism. In their Sunday school classes, our children have been learning about the beauty of diversity in God’s creation. As a church, we believe God’s justice is for everyone, and we lament the mistreatment of anyone in all of God’s creation. It can be hard to talk about violence and injustice with children, but we have a responsibility to teach our children well.
