Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. -Matthew 21:12
After Jesus’ grand entrance into Jerusalem on that Palm Sunday, he entered into the Temple to pray. While he was there, he saw all of the money changers taking advantage of people as they were preparing for the Passover. He was so infuriated with what he saw that it put him into a rage.
“Rage”
Busy Temple
Loud voices
Exchanging hands
Changing money
Flying coins
Tables overturning
Madman yelling
Chaos everywhere
People screaming
Taking cover
Whip appears
Anger flairs
“Do not turn my Father’s house into a den of thieves!!”
Storms off
Cold silence
Confusion lingers
People question
Who is this man?
What does he thinks he is doing?
This is our business not his.
Just wait.
Just wait.
You will get what’s coming to you.
Just wait…
