Apr 28, 2020: Celebrate What’s Right with the World
My friend, Dewitt Jones, used to be a photographer for National Geographic. Whenever he went out to shoot photos, he was always charged with “Celebrate what’s right with the world.” With all the negativity in the news and anxiety over COVID-19, it’s easy to focus on what’s not right with the world. Yet, when we focus on beauty, we discover that there is an overabundance of it. One of my favorite scriptures from Apostle Paul says,
Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.
Philippians 4:8-9
Take a look at this video clip, in which Dewitt says that when you change your lens in which you view the world, you change your life.
