Christian art and iconography can sometimes express what our words cannot. This week, we recognize the ascension of Jesus, a story which is just as strange and amazing as the resurrection, but less commonly known in our mainstream culture. After Jesus was raised from the dead, he appeared to the disciples and many others. Not long after, he ascended to heaven, and our tradition teaches that he is seated at the right hand of God the Father, interceding for us.
