Prayer is sitting in the silence until it silences us, choosing gratitude until we are grateful, and praising God until we ourselves are an act of praise.
– Richard Rohr
Not long ago, Veronica, Rola and I were at the church discussing the Sunday morning service when Veronica’s phone dinged to give her a notification. But it wasn’t just any “ding”, it was the ringing of chapel bells to remind her that it was noon and that it was time to stop whatever she was doing and to pray.
With Rola’s guidance, Janet Hill and Judy Yee have begun a prayer group at Parkview. They have asked for us all to be mindful that whenever it is noon, to take a moment to pray for our Parkview community and family. Although we are apart, this can be a reminder that we are still connected. As the three of us began to get ready to pray, we heard the church bells of the Catholic church begin to ring at the same time and the three of us smiled that we had a second reminder to stop and pray.
Friends, know that you all are in our hearts and minds and prayers and that we are praying for you and your families and friends and community. We also look forward to the day when we can all be together. In the meantime, if you would like more specific prayers, please feel free to go to the church website and click on the link there and someone from our prayer team can pray with you. Blessings to you all and as 1 Thessalonians 5:16 says, “Let us pray continually.”
