“Beloved, let us love one another.”
1 John 4:7
On this day of Martin Luther King Jr’s birthday, may we remember his legacy of love, civil rights, and non-violent disobedience. Our nation could take a lesson from him again right now with which the classy way in which he helped steer this ship of the Civil Rights movement. He protested wearing suit and ties and with dignity. He didn’t carry weapons when he protested, because he was too busy linking arms in solidarity with his fellow colleagues. I pray that our country will get back to this same kind of dignified decorum. There are rumors that all Capitols in our 50 states will experience protestors this Sunday and on the day of President Elect Biden’s inauguration on January 20. I pray for peace. I pray for non-violent protest. I pray for decorum. I pray that our nation can heal. “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” -Martin Luther King Jr.
