“By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.”
Hebrews 11:3
We have a really exciting bible study on “Science & Religion.” Judy Yee led the conversation last week and she shared this video with us. When you get a chance, please watch it. It is by Mayim Bialik and she is an actor on the television show “The Big Bang Theory” and she is also a scientist. In this video, she speaks about how science and religion are compatible in her worldview and not separated by any means. The more conversations I have with people of faith, I am surprised to find how many people have privately struggled with trying to reconcile the two. They have grown up in an environment that separated religion and science. So here are my questions, “Why can’t God be in the Big Bang? Why can’t God be in the tiniest of atoms? Why can’t God be in chemistry? If God can be everywhere, then why can’t God be anywhere, even including in science? As Louis Pasteur once said, “Posterity will one day laugh at the foolishness of modern materialistic philosophers. The more I study nature, the more I stand amazed at the work of the Creator. I pray while I am engaged at my work in the laboratory.” (1822-1895: French Biologist, Microbiologist and Chemist) Come join the conversation on Tuesday night at 6:30pm. All are welcome!
