Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last.
Luke 23:46
Today is Good Friday. Today is the day when we remember the journey that Jesus took to the cross. We celebrated Maundy Thursday last night by remembering Jesus’ last supper. And it still amazes me that he chose the way of the cross and willingly chose to die to show a greater path for humanity of LOVE. My dear friend Rev. Jeanie Shaw and colleague Nancy Disher put together this amazingly beautiful Stations of the Cross scripture and photography for this day. The pictures that were taken are from the many mission trips that they have done with this presbytery and all around the world. It is so powerful that I have to share with you their ministry, the beauty and powerful impact of these photos and the message that the cross teaches us to bear on this Good Friday. I encourage you all to light a candle and to sit in silence, even if it is for but a moment, and to remember what this day represents for us all in our Christian faith. A moment of silence…let us pray…
