Special Notice on the Reopening of Parkview July 25, 2021
“For where two or three have gathered together
(Matthew 18:20)
in My name, I am there in their midst.”
Dear Parkview Family,
The reopening of Parkview to in-person worship is upon us! We are fully aware of the surge in recent Covid cases as well as the Sacramento County Public Health Officer’s July 15, 2021 strong recommendation to mask indoors. The Reopening Committee used its own survey of the congregation, health and safety guidelines, including the one above, and other research to develop the following set of protocols for in-person worship:
- Vaccinations. We strongly recommend everyone attending in-person worship service be vaccinated.
- Masks. Masks are mandatory. Wear masks over both your nose and mouth. Disposable masks will be available, if you forget yours. Please do not use masks with ventilation holes.
- Hand Sanitizer. Please sanitize your hands upon entering the church. Hand sanitizer stations will be available in the vestibule of the church.
- Attendance Sheet. Please sign in to help us monitor attendance.
- Social Distancing. Every other pew will be blocked off. Please sit only in the open pews.
- Singing. There will be NO singing until further notice.
- Ventilation. We will worship with the windows open. Dress accordingly.
- Offerings. We encourage everyone to either mail their offerings or donate online, but if you bring a donation, please place it in a provided envelope and put it in the office manager’s mailbox.
- Communion. Communion will be celebrated the first Sunday of the month. We will use individually wrapped communion cups with wafers. They will be available in the vestibule on Communion Sunday.
- Coffee Hour. There will be NO coffee hour until further notice.
Some of you may not be ready to attend worship service in person. If you are immunocompromised, are not yet vaccinated, or have family members’ health to consider, you are welcome to join the worship service via Zoom. Volunteers will continue to convey your joys and concerns through the Chat feature as we have been doing the past several months. We honor and respect everyone’s decision in this matter. Either way you choose to worship, please remember God’s abounding love for us all.
Blessings!
Pastor Pamela
