On March 19, 2023, a far-right activist group released a highly-edited video meant to discredit Pastor Casey Tinnin, the LGBTQ community, and the Loomis Basin United Church of Christ. The church provides and facilitates a safe meeting space called The Landing Spot for an LGBTQIA+ youth group in Loomis. Project Veritas activists posed as parents searching for support and illegally videotaped a conversation with Pastor Casey. Project Veritas and other far-right groups have a pattern of releasing false information and heavily edited videos to further their political agenda. Loomis Basin UCC will continue to serve and provide support to the LGBTQ community.
Parkview stands with Loomis Basin UCC and is sending a donation to the Loomis Basin UCC Defense Fund and the Landing Spot. The church is looking into enhanced security to keep the pastor and congregation safe from hate-group threats. We invite our worshipers and friends to also donate to the fund. Please write your check to Parkview and write Loomis UCC on the notation line. Click here to donate to Parkview online, if preferred. Write Loomis UCC in the Notes section. We’ll ensure that all donations get to them. Thank you.
