After worship service on April 14, 2024, Parkview hosted a workshop on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging. Europa Grace (they/them) was our presenter and led us to new ways of acting to achieve our goals of DEIB. As a Matthew 25 church, Parkview is always looking for ways to fulfill its commitment to actively engage in the world around us, to act boldly and compassionately to see our neighbors through Jesus’ eyes and serve those who are marginalized or in need — people who are hungry, thirsty, naked, sick, imprisoned, strangers, poor or oppressed in other ways and in need of welcoming. Ro (Europa’s nickname) concentrated on the LGBTQ+ community. Many thanks to Maurine Huang for the photos.
Check below the slideshow for the wheel of privilege/power that Ro provided to us to ask us to recognize the privilege and power we may hold and then to use it to help others.
