On the morning of September 7, 2024, members and friends of Parkview Presbyterian Church joined with over 500 supporters who walked in ACC Senior Services’ Third Annual Ohana Walk. Our Parkview team had 45 signups, making Parkview the second-largest team in the walk, and together we raised donations of $1,770 for the Asian Community Center! Parkview also staffed one of the checkpoint stations along the three-mile course in the Pocket Area, where volunteers served water, greeted walkers, and provided directions. Parkview was also represented in the post-walk entertainment, with Bill Nagata, Jack Sakai, and William Yee contributing their musical talents.
Kudos to all the walkers, and special thanks to Carol Sakai for recruiting walkers, Donna Komure-Toyama for coordinating the checkpoint station, and Jonathan Sakakibara for photography. Many Parkview members are long-time ACC volunteers and donors, and our participation in the ACC Ohana Walk – our third year in a row – is one of the many ways that we support ACC’s mission to enhance the quality of life for our seniors.
