Їama Embodied Ministries is a New Worshiping Community of the North Central California Presbytery led by Rev. Rola Al Ashkar in partnership with Parkview, which provides gathering space and administrative resources. Їama offers a welcoming environment for embodied spiritual practices; core gatherings include gentle yoga, hatha-vinyasa yoga, and conversation circles.
Gentle Yoga. A slow and mindful practice that emphasizes deep breathing, body awareness, and nervous system regulation. This class is accessible to all abilities, providing a supportive and trauma-informed space to reconnect with the body. Sessions alternate between floor yoga and chair yoga (on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday). Stay a bit longer on the last Tuesday of the month and join us for coffee or tea afterward!
Tuesdays 10 – 11 am
Hatha-Vinyasa Practice. A dynamic yet intentional practice that integrates breath with motion. This class moves at a steady pace and gradually progresses into a faster flow, fostering strength, flexibility, and balance while cultivating mindfulness. This practice is designed for all levels, offering modifications and options. We gather for dinner after practice on the last Thursday of each month. Let us know when your birthday is, so we can celebrate you! Thursdays 6 – 7 pm
Embodied Listening. A welcoming space where we come together to reconnect with our bodies, and find a sense of belonging. Through guided conversations, somatic awareness practices, fellowship, and shared storytelling, we explore how our bodies hold wisdom, faith, and lived experiences. We discuss topics related to spirituality, faith, and everyday life. Expect a sound bath or a guided somatic practice every now and then. Join us on the last Monday of the month for food and fellowship afterward. Mondays 6 – 7:30 pm
