PPC Legacy Project

Remember the days of old; consider the generations long past. Ask your parents and they will tell you, your elders, and they will explain to you.

Deuteronomy 32:7

What is the PURPOSE of this project? “To create, preserve, and share the church’s cultural history towards honoring the older generations of the church and to share its rich heritage for current and new attendees to understand and appreciate the church’s history and vision as we move towards a multi-cultural ministry.”

Please help us document our church history. For starters, we NEED historical background, dates, persons involved and photos or documents for the following activities. We understand this is not an exhaustive list of activities and events and welcome your additions and recollections.

Parkview Presbyterian Women (PPW), Men’s Group, Mariners, Jujikai, Youth Group, Bible Study, Basketball team, Baseball team, William Land Elementary School tutoring program, Ecumenical Council of Churches, Discovery Table (children’s sermon), Joint Christmas concert, Christmas luncheon, Zephyr Point family retreat, August “Hawaiian theme month” and pot luck, Church Bazaar, Salmon Dinner, Breakfast Buffet, Spaghetti Dinner, Seafood Fest, Udon Sale, Chirashi Sale, Rummage sale, Loaves and Fishes, Men’s Club breakfast meetings, Book Club, Choir Retreat, Family Retreat, Praise Team, Children’s theatre, Vacation Bible School, Southside Housing, Crane folding for Tsuru for Solidarity, Women’s March, Anti-Asian hate prayer vigil, Zoom worship and meetings.
