Kishwer’s Sinfully Easy Brownies

For the last 10 years, I have been making these sinfully easy brownies
for potlucks, parties, church social hours—you name it. They go by
another, less appropriate name on the Internet, but I will let you google
that on your own. Here’s all you do:

  1. Go to your local grocery store. Buy three items: a box of brownie
mix, a roll of chocolate-chip cookie dough, and a package of Oreo
cookies. I prefer original, but you can pick any flavor you like. The
exact brand of brownie mix and chocolate-chip cookie dough are at
your own discretion. This particular dessert is very sweet and rich,
so keeping it simple is best. My own particular preference is to go
towards the higher-end brands, but it’s a proprietary formula, sorry
    not sorry!
  2. Pre-heat the oven to 350º F.
  3. Mix the brownie mix according to directions, but (and this is very
important) substitute any directions for vegetable oil with butter. This makes the difference between a “homemade” brownie
    look/feel/taste and a cardboard-tasting box mix brownie.
  4. Take out a 9″ x 9″ pan for more cake-like brownies or a 9″ x 13″ pan for thinner ones and spread butter on the bottom and sides.
  5. Take your pre-made cookie dough out of its wrapper and pat it
down firmly so it lines the pan.
  6. Cover the layer of cookie day with a single layer of Oreos.
  7. Pour the brownie batter on top. Voila! You’re almost done!
  8. Bake for 30-40 minutes, depending on your oven. Personally, I
check it after 15 minutes and then every 5 minutes thereafter.
Typically the brownies are finished when a toothpick in the center
comes out clean. But if you like your brownies moist, take them out slightly undercooked and let it finish in the pan.
  9. Serve and let the compliments roll in. Emphasize the hours and
hours you spent painstakingly baking in the hot kitchen. Wallow in
    your accomplishments.
