Special Zoom Prayer Time: Tuesday, Aug 31, 6:30 pm

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Psalm 46:1

Dear Friends,

As you all may have heard by now, there was vandalism that took place at Parkview Presbyterian Church this past Sunday, August 29th. This was all discovered as we were about to begin our morning worship service. The Parkview Presbyterian Church sign by the front doors was shattered.  Also, the bottom panels of the front doors were busted out and the person crawled in through there.  Nothing was stolen, but the Japanese scroll that hangs on the inside of the front doors was taken outside and was draped over the transept of the front gate.  Because nothing was stolen and a Japanese piece of art was the focus of display, the police are considering this to be a possible hate crime.
Please note that our Buildings and Grounds Committee went into immediate action and picked up supplies to fix the doors following the worship service. We are in the process of ordering a new sign and doors and they will be replaced in the coming weeks. We have been asked what the lettering says on the Japanese scroll and it says in the large Japanese characters (kanji) “Love God and love neighbors”. So although there was an act of vandalism this past Sunday, and the motive is not entirely clear at this time, we continue to feel God’s love by the outpouring of support and love of our neighbors. Therefore, we are inviting you all to a zoom prayer time on Tuesday, August 31 at 6:30pm.  Here is the link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88568722967. We hope you can attend, and if you cannot, please keep us in your prayers.  So let us not let this moment dishearten us, instead let it make us stronger and come together.  This church has a history of resilience so let us put our hope in the Lord and when we do, it will renew our strength.  “We will soar on wings like eagles; we will run and not grow weary, we will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31

Blessings
